Native of Piqua Is Stricken On Wednesday
Edward C. Houser, 62, Dies at the Veterans' Hospital in Dayton- Burial Here Saturday.
Edward C. Houser, 62, of College Hill, Ohio, a native of Piqua, died Wednesday at the Veterans' Hospital, Dayton. He had been in failing health since last fall.
Born in this city April 25, 1875, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs.s William Houser. He resided here until he was 27 years of age and was married on June 1, 1916. He was a member of the Methodist church and affiliated with Camp 74, Spanish American War Veterans.
He leaves his widow, Mrs. Cecile C. Houser, College Hill; a son, Robert of College Hill; two brothers, Fred A. and Frank of Piqua, and a sister, Mrs. Homer Reck, who also resides in this city.
The remains will be brought to Piqua this evening and taken to the Groven funeral home where friends may call from Friday evening until time for the funeral, which will take place at two o'clock Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Bryce Nichols will officiate with burial at Forest Hill cemetery.
Spanish American War Veterans will hold their services Friday evening at 7:30 o'clock at the Groven funeral home.
