    Houser Infant Dies Friday

    Committed rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. for John Thomas Houser, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Houser, 1008 Boone Street, who died an hour and a half after birth at Piqua Memorial Hospital Friday night. The infant was born at 10:45 p.m.

    Surviving besides the parents, Fred and Charlene Bayman Houser are two brothers, William Frederick and Michael Stewart; the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred A. Houser and the maternal step-grandmother, Mrs. William Bayman.

    Fred H. Houser, 70, of 1017 Boone St., died at 10:39 p.m. Wednesday in Piqua Memorial Medical Center.

    He was born in Memphis, Tenn., on April 8, 1915, to the late Fred A. and Gladys Stewart Houser.

    A 1933 Piqua Central High School graduate, he married the former Charlene Bayman July 10, 1938, in Piqua.

    Mr. Houser was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Piqua Elks Lodge and American Legion. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

    He formerly was co-owner of H&H Mobile Home Sales here, owned the Fred Houser Insurance Agency and Piqua Mobile Home Service.

    In addition to his widow, he is survived by two sons, William F., Houston, Texas, and Michael S., of Bad-Toelz, Germany, and two granddaughters. One sister, Virginia (Mickey) Enos, is deceased.

    Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Jamieson and Yannucci Funeral Home, 333 W. High St., by Dr. John Salmon, with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery.

    Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. An Elk Lodge of Sorrow will be conducted there at 8 p.m. Friday.

    The family suggests memorial contributions to the Piqua Ambulance Fund.

    Charlene L. Houser, 93, formerly of 1017 Boone St., Piqua, died at 6:55 pm Wednesday April 13, 2011 at the Upper Valley Medical Center. She was born February 7, 1918 in Piqua to the late William and Rose (Arnett) Bayman. She married Fred H. Houser July 10, 1939 in Piqua; he preceded her in death March 5, 1986.

    Survivors include two sons, William (Barbara) Houser of Spring, Texas, Michael S. Houser of Piqua; two granddaughters, Lisa Belter, Amy Houser; and two great grandchildren, Elisabeth Belter, Michael Belter. She was preceded in death by a son Jon Thomas Houser; two sisters, Gladys Fox, Florence M. Henry; a brother Thomas Bayman; and a half-brother William Bayman.

    Mrs. Houser was a graduate of Piqua Central High School. She was a homemaker and worked as a Secretary for Miller-Meteor Company and Gunter Accounting Service. As an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, she enjoyed serving on many committees.

    A funeral service at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Kazy Blocher Hinds officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home.     Fred Aaron Houser, 72, of 608 Boone Street, died at 9:15 p.m., Wednesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Enos. He had been ill for two years and bedfast for five months.

    The son of William C. and Rachel Catherine Hipple Houser, he was born January 21, 1882 in Miami County and was married in Memphis, Tenn., to Anne G. Stewart, who survives. He was employed as a woodworker at the old Piqua Handle Company and then later at the Anchor Manufacturing Company. He was a member of the Church of Christ and the Jr. O.U.A.M.

    Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Mrs. William Enos (Virginia), a son, Fred H. Houser, both of Piqua; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Homer Reck (Emma) and a brother, Frank W. Houser, both of Piqua. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

    Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday at the Jamieson funeral home, the Rev. James McCord in charge. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

    Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m., Friday.

    Anna G. (Jackie) Houser, 100, of 1017 Boone St., died 11:59 p.m. Thursday at the Piqua Manor Nursing Home.

    She was born in Paducah, Ky., Jan. 27, 1882, a daughter of Crittenden and Mamie Parker Stewart. She was married to Fred A. Houser Oct. 26, 1912. He died in 1952.

    Mrs. Houser was a member of Greene Street United Methodist Church.

    Survivors include a son, Fred H. Houser, Piqua; four grandchildren, four greatgrandchildren and a brother, Bryan Stewart, Paducah, Ky. A daughter, two sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.

    Private services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

    Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Jamieson Funeral Home, 333 w. High St., Piqua.

    William S. Houser
    16-Months Illness Ends On Wednesday

    William S. Houser Passes Away at the Hospital at the Age of 82 Years- Rites Not Arranged.

    An illness of sixteen months duration came to an end for William S. Houser with his death at Memorial Hospital at 9:25 Wednesday night. Mr. Houser celebrated his eighty-third birthday Tuesday.

    Born near Piqua on the Loy Pike July 14, 1853, he was the oldest of seven children of Aaron and Eliza Inskeep Houser, all of whom have preceded him in death, as did his wife and one daughter. He was a member of the Methodist church and also the Odd Fellows Lodge No. 8

    He leaves three sons, Edward C. of College Hill, Ohio; Fred A., Frank W., and one daughter Mrs. Homer Reck of Piqua and eight grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be announced later.

    Mrs. Rachel C. Houser

    At the home No. 310 First Street this morning at three o'clock, occurred the death of Mrs. Rachel C. Houser, the beloved wife of William Houser. On last Thursday evening Mrs. Houser submitted to an operation for appendicitis, which revoaled that the surgeons had been mistaken, her illness having been due to an abcess. She grew worse Sunday evening and at the hour mentioned passed away. The deceased was born at Houston in Shelby County and was 47 years old the third of last May. She had lived about Piqua all her life. Besides the bereaved husband, four children are left to mourn her loss, two having preceeded her to the better land.

    The funeral services will be held at the residence Wednesday morning at ten o'clock, conducted by Rev. Heber D. Ketcham, the deceased having been a member of Green Street M. E. Church. The interment will be at Forest Hill.
