    They moved to the Clinton Township, Douglas County, Kansas about 1855 and were there till sometime in the late 1880's. They then moved a few miles away to Lecompton, Douglas County, Kansas.

    David and Adaline are both buried in Maple Grove Cemetery in Lecompton, Kansas. Lot 20, graves 4 and 5 in the North/East side of the cemetery (2nd row back from the road)

    Found a post from 1999 saying he was Peter Buchard Gallagher from Donelgal, Ireland and he was married to a Nancy... Close but does not 100% fit as his census says from Virginia. I did find marriage info for him and both wives, Lydia Elizabeth Garner and Nancy Ann Hanes...

    I'm guessing his parents are Peter & Betsy (Garner) Gallagher that were married 10/27/1800 in Westmoreland CO. VA. But that is just a guess... There is a Augustus L Gallagher that married Fanny Elmore 1/9/1817 in Westmoreland that could also be related.

    Isaac and Unity (Cannon) Herring being the parents of James is just a guess...

    One of the big reasons for me thinking this is because of the name Unity... James' daughter is Adaline UNITY and the wife of Isaac is UNITY... Also, James' children were born in Illinois, and James is from South Carolina... Isaac's children were born in South Carolina and he migrated to Illinois... Too many close fit's for this not to be the same family... The only part that is off is the ages... James (according to 1850 census) was born abt 1788, but sources list James, child of Isaac, as being born abt 1796... That's a big difference...
