| 1901 | Desda Ruth Larkin, 74, of Grandview Missouri died June 14, 1991. She was born in Griswold Iowa and lived in Exira Iowa, Cleveland in Cass County Missouri and Littleton Colorado. She moved to Grandview in 1988. Mrs. Larkin was a member of the South Suburban Christian Church of Littleton. Desda married Harold Joseph Lewis of Elliott Iowa on August 30, 1934. From that marriage, she bore 4 children, Richard Wayne, Phyllis Ann, Barbara Dee and Marilyn Jean. Harold was killed during World War II in Italy in April 1945. She met Walter Ashton Larkin in Red Oak Iowa on Valentine's Day 1947. They were married on June 4, 1947. Walter had two children from a previous marriage, John Ashton and Mary Elizabeth. The combined family settled in Cleveland Missouri. Three children were added to this combined family, Ruth May, David Ray and Deborah Gail. She was born March 11, 1935, in Leon, WV, the daughter of the late William and Georgia (Rhodes) Barnett. Her husband Lester H. DeVault also preceded her in death. She was a homemaker, a Protestant and she enjoyed quilting. Survivors include her son, Lester DeVault of Barberton, OH; daughter, Carolyn Sue DeVault of Akron, OH, and a grandson, Willy DeVault. A funeral procession will leave the Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016, for a graveside service at the Creston Cemetery with the Rev.
