PIQUA--Robert E. Houser, 79, of Piqua, died Friday, June 7, 1996, at 7:50 a.m. in the Heartland of Piqua Nursing Home.
He was born in Piqua on Aug. 31, 1916, the son of the late Frank W. and Emma Jane Bird Houser.
He married Doris Marie Schlosser on Sept. 23, 1939, in Lynn, Ind. She preceded him in death in 1978.
Survivors include two sons, Robert F. Houser of Troy, and Larry J. Houser of Piqua; two daughters, Mrs. William Shaffer (Helen Kay) of Piqua, and Mrs james Miller (Kathy Sue) of Gulf Port, Miss.; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; one brother, William "Harold" Houser of Piqua; two sisters, Nina Jay of Covington, and Mrs. Robert Bragg (Patricia) of Piqua.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one grandson.
Mr. Houser attended Piqua City Schools.
He was the owner of the former Houser Gulf Service Station in Piqua.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 614, Warren Masonic Lodge 24, and the Piqua Chapter 32 of the Royal Arch Masons.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Wills officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. in the funeral home.
