JOSEPH SCUDDER, TEXTILE WORKER, STRICKEN TODAY
Heart Ailment Fatal to West High St. Resident - Funeral Today
A heart ailment with which he had suffered for a years ended fatally
when Joseph Ray Scudder, 44, died at 9:30 o'clock this morning at his
home, 504 West High street. He was employed at the Atlas Underwear
company.
Born near Fletcher January 1, 1896, he was the son of Bland and
Carrie House Scudder. He had resided in Piqua for 40 years, employed at the
Atlas and for many years previously at the Piqua Hosier company. He
was a member of Greene Street Methodist church.
His widow, Mrs. Irene Bailey Scudder, whom he married in July, 1923,
survives him with a daughter, Nancy, a student at Piqua high school.
He also leaves a brother, Clarence A. Scudder of Piqua.
The Rev. E. E. Fowler will officiate when the funeral is held at 2:30
o'clock Friday afternoon at the Home for Funerals with burial in
Forest Hill cemetery.
