Mrs. Irene Scudder, 77, Dies in Piqua Hospital
Mrs. Irene Scudder, 77, of 1110 Virginia, widow of Ray Scudder, died
at 12:10 p.m. Monday in Piqua Memorial Hospital where she was a patient
three weeks. She had been ill one year.
Born in Shelby County, Nov.? 1891, she was a daughter of Otho and
Anna Mae Burt Dowden. Her husband died in 1940.
Mrs. Scudder was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the
Sigma Class of the church. She was a former member of the YWCA and the
Pickawillany Club.
She had been employed as a clerk in the Crosby Drug Store here for
several years until her retirement in 1968.
Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Alfred McClain (Nancy) of Piqua; and
three grandchildren, Cynthia, Jerry and Barbara McClain.
The Rev. Charles Johnson will conduct services at 2 p.m. Thursday in
the Jamieson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Wednesday with the
family present from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
