PASTOR'S WIFE DIES AT DAYTON
Mrs. Nellie Christian Hirby Succumbs After a Short Illness
Piqua friends and relatives were shocked to learn of the death yesterday afternoon of Mrs. Nellie Christina Hirby, Hirby, wife of Rev. Augustus W. Hirby and former well known Piqua resident at her home 212 Edgar avenue, Dayton, after a short illness.
Mrs. Hirby was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ephriam Houser and was born near Piqua on the farm where her parents still reside. Her entire life except for the past few years had been spent in and around Piqua where she was popular in a wide circle of friends.
For a number of years she resided at Eaton, O. where her husband held the pastorate of the Eaton Christian church. From Eaton the family moved to Dayton nearly three years ago when Rev. Hirby accepted the pastorate at the Walnut Hills Christian church there.
She leaves besides her husband and parents, six children, Lois D. Lucille, Dorothy, Jean, Paul, Robert and Betty Jo. One sister Mrs. Bessie Arnold resides at Dayton and three brothers, Lee, Clyde and Harry Houser live in Piqua.
Short funeral services will be held from the Christian church in Dayton Friday afternoon at 12 o'clock following which the body will be brought to Piqua where services will be held at the First Christian church at 3 o'clock. Burial will be made at Forest Hill cemetery.
