    • Vernon Carper, 74, of Grayson, passed away at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

      Mr. Carper is a son of the late Ward and Leatha Meenach Carper.

      He was the husband of Letha Messer Carper of Grayson.
      Mr. Carper was a farmer and a member of the Iron Hill Church of Christ.

      In addition to his wife Letha, he is survived by his 3 sons, David (Rita) Carper, Wayne (Teresa) Carper and Timothy (Kathy) Carper, all of Grayson, Kentucky, his 3 daughters, Bonnie (Darrell) Blevins of Cherryville, North Carolina, Patty (Stanley) Allen of Vanceburg, Kentucky and Freda Howard (Wendell Jones) of Morehead, Kentucky; his four sisters, Audrey Stalker of Indianapolis, Indiana, Betty Preston of Chillicothe, Ohio, Opal Jordan and Darlene Smith both of Greenup County; his four brothers, Edgar Carper of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Bobby Carper of Grayson, Curt Carper and Jimmy Carper both of Carter City; his ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

      In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Oral Lee Carper and his sister Beulah Lowe.
